How to Compact Your Lotus Notes Mail

Toolbox - Mail File Compact

Compacting your mail file is necessary to recover space left after you have archived or deleted a significant amount of documents. Our mail servers run compacts automatically at night. Below how to manually request a Mail File compact.

Sign into the toolbox.smcusa.com website. Select Quick Links

In the Quick Links menu select Compact Email

Selecting the Submit button will initiate the compact.

Important Notes:

  • Allow up to 15 minutes for the mail file compact to complete. Even longer for really large mail files or during peak hours.
